Francesca Donner is director and editor of women and gender at The New York Times. She was a founding member of The Times Gender Initiative which aims to lead the public conversation around women’s and gender issues globally and amplify women’s voices. She also edits In Her Words, a column which examines topics including politics, economics, business and culture — all through a gender lens.
Before she joined The Times, Francesca was a deputy editor at The Wall Street Journal, where she covered the business of management and worked on digital newsroom strategy.
Francesca grew up in the UK, and holds degrees from Brown and Stanford universities in the U.S.
